Funding the Wagon Box residency program can be the most direct way to influence culture, politics, and history itself. The Wagon Box project is on the frontier of the most important issues of our time, and is building out a unique network of people and projects whose collaboration will be critical in the unfolding historical moment.
In the wake of a century of upheaval, the last decade has seen substantial social, political, and cultural shifts. The tech-driven disintegration of legacy institutions and the rise of decentralized networks has opened new possibilities.
We are well into the Information Age, and are looking at the oncoming age of machine intelligence and robotics, with their social and economic implications. In this shifting world scene, the role of America, a unique nation with a heritage of decentralized parallel systems of governance and cultural identity, is yet to be determined.
Residents at the Wagon Box will be exploring different theoretical, social, and cultural projects on this frontier, and building coalitions that will be necessary for the good and true and beautiful to prevail.
