Resident Application:

A Wagon Box residency is an opportunity to focus on a particular project in an environment uniquely suited for creative productivity. The setting is a quiet rustic lodge tucked in the Bighorn mountains, with streams and wooded roads and trails outside and cheery wood fireplace, a library, quiet study areas, good wifi, a gym, sauna, and the company of other thoughtful residents. Residents receive food and lodging, a $1,000 stipend to cover travel and incidentals, and the support of a mentor. You will also be tapping into a network of thoughtful, accomplished, interesting folks who are friends, fellows and members of the Wagon Box project.

The Wagon Foundation has a list of approved projects and mentors. Applicants may also suggest a project or mentor. Each project must be funded through a patron.

Residencies are in one month cohorts, with the option of doing multiple months. Residents will be connected with their mentor to discuss the scope, direction and shape of the project before arriving at the Wagon Box, and will communicate with the mentor and have final comment and review of their project a week before the end of the residency.

Residents will have plenty of space and time for solitary work, but will also have designated times of discussion, and sharing their progress with each other.
